Arduino CNC Shield Features
A4988 Compatible CNC Shield is an Arduino Uno shield that can control four stepper motors with four A4988 stepper motor drivers. The pin layout of the card is compatible with the open source CNC control software Grbl. Although the pin sequence is Grbl compatible and allows it to be used as a shield, motor direction and step signals can also be sent to the card through parallel male pins. Thus, you can use the board not only with Arduino Uno, but also with any microcontroller system you want.
A4988 Stepper Motor Driver Board Features
A4988 Stepper Motor Driver is a stepper motor driver board based on the A4988 DMOS Microstepping Driver with current limiter and overcurrent protection. With this board you can control a bipolar stepper motor with 2A output per coil. The board has a simple step and direction control interface. It also offers different step resolutions. These step resolutions are whole step, half step, quarter step, 1/8 step and 1/16 step. Thanks to the adjustable current control, the maximum current output can be adjusted with a potentiometer. Thus, you can achieve a higher step speed by working with higher voltages than your stepper motor uses.
