Raspberry Pi Led Matrix Board 

 
We know that the I/O pin of Raspberry Pi is limited. That's why controlling dot matrix with Raspberry is limited. But the special dot matrix control board basically just takes the Raspberry Pi SPI interface (3 IO + 2 active) and you can control 64 LEDs.
