14mm SMD Reed Relay - Reed Contact
This small switch is called a magnetic contact (reed switch). If the switch is brought into a magnetic field, the two metal iron pieces inside the capsule make contact and the switch closes. When there is no magnetic field, the contact separates and the switch opens. It is a great example of a contactless switch. This switch works up to 1.2A.
