DHT22 Temperature and Humidity Sensor - AM2302

 

DHT22 is a basic, low-cost digital temperature and humidity sensor. It uses a capacitive humidity sensor and a thermistor to measure ambient air and outputs a digital signal on the data pin (no analog input pins required). It's pretty simple to use, but requires careful timing to retrieve the data. The only real downside to this sensor is that you may get new data every 2 seconds, so when using our library, sensor readings can go up to 2 seconds.

Connect the first pin on the left to 3-5V power, the second pin connect it to the data input pin and ground to the rightmost pin. Although it uses a single wire to send data, it is not Dallas One Wire compatible! If you want multiple sensors, each one needs to have its own data pin.

Compared to DHT11, this sensor is more sensitive, more accurate and operates over a larger temperature/humidity range, but It is larger and more expensive.
