UC3846N is a Current Mode that provides all the necessary features to implement fixed frequency, current mode control schemes while maintaining the minimum number of external parts. It is a PWM Controller. The superior performance of this technique can be measured by improved line arrangement, improved load response characteristics, and a simpler, easier-to-design control loop. Topological advantages include the ability to limit pulse-to-pulse current, automatic symmetry correction for push-pull converters, and the ability to create parallel "power modules" while maintaining equal current sharing. In addition to soft start, the protection circuitry includes built-in low voltage lockout and programmable current limit.
