74HC283 is a high-speed Si-gate CMOS device and pin compatible with low-power Schottky TTL (LSTTL).
Due to the symmetry of the binary addition function The 74HC283 can be used with all active HIGH operands (positive logic) or all active LOW operands (negative logic). The results S1 to S4 and COUT on all active LOW operands should also be interpreted as active LOW. On active HIGH inputs, CIN should be kept LOW when no carry is intended.
