The L294 is a monolithic switching solenoid driver designed for fast, high current applications such as hummers and needling in printers and electronic typewriters. Power loss is reduced thanks to effective switching operation. An extra feature of the L294 is a latching diagnostic output that indicates when the output is short-circuited.
