MPF102 - TO92 JFET Transistor

 

MPF102 is a very famous JFET transistor used in many commercial devices, educational and hobby projects. It is mainly produced for amplification in the VHF region of frequencies. But apart from that, it can also be used in reality of other audio amplification related applications. The transistor has high gain and low noise characteristics that make it ideal to use for very small or low level signal amplification, whether it is an RF signal, audio signal or other. It can also be used for switching purposes. Although the transistor is no longer available today, some suppliers still have it in stock and you can find it by searching some reputable component suppliers. However, if you cannot find it, you can also use the spare transistors shown above.
