7912 Voltage Regulator - TO220
Voltage regulators are very common in electronic circuits. They provide a constant output voltage for a different input voltage. In our case, the 7912 IC is a negative 12V regulator, meaning it provides -12V as output. The name 7912 has two meanings, “79” means it is a negative voltage regulator and “12” means it provides 12V as output.
Negative voltage regulators are mainly Op- It is used in amp and other circuits where negative supply voltage is required. In many cases where an Op-Amp is operating on a dual-mode power supply, a negative voltage will be regulated by these 79XX ICs.
