7924 Voltage Regulator - TO220

Voltage regulators are very common in electronic circuits. The L79 series three-terminal negative regulators are available in TO-220, TO-220FP, and D²PAK packages and a variety of fixed output voltages, making them useful in a wide variety of applications. These regulators can provide local on-board regulation, eliminating the distribution problems associated with single-point regulation; they also have the same voltage options as the L78 positive standard series, making them particularly suitable for split power supplies. If adequate heat sinks are provided, they can provide output currents in excess of 1.5 A.
