MAX202EPE DIP-16 RS Serial Protocol Integrated

The MAX202EPE is a +5V, RS232 transceiver with four 0.1µF external capacitors in a 16-pin DIP package. It is an RS232 and V.28 transceiver with integrated charge pump circuit for single +5V supply operation. The charge pump consists of three parts: voltage converters, drivers (transmitters) and receivers. The integrated charge pump circuit eliminates the need for a bipolar ±12V supply and enables single supply operation from +5V or 9V to +12V. The driver maintains ±5V EIA/TIA-232E output signal levels at data rates exceeding 120Kbps when installed in accordance with the EIA/TIA-232E specification.
