XBee Explorer USB

The XBee Explorer Dongle is an interconnect board based on the FT232RL USB-Serial TTL converter, used to communicate with your computer and program XBee wireless modules. This board can be used with all XBee modules, including Serial 1, Serial 2.5, standard, and Pro. After the board is plugged into your computer, a virtual COM port will be created. Through this COM port, you can program your XBee module with the X-CTU program or, using a computer program you write, you can wirelessly communicate with and control your microcontroller from your computer.

 

Another feature of the board is that it can also be used as an FTDI programmer. In other words, this board provides computer communication with chips that have a UART port, and it can also be used to program the ATmega328 microcontroller on the Arduino UNO with the Arduino program. The dongle contains all the features of the FTDI programming board. The board has pins where XBee modules can be installed. All XBee modules can be installed on these pins. Make sure the XBee module is in the correct direction when installing it. The flat side of the XBee module must be inserted into the USB port correctly. If inserted upside down, permanent damage may occur to the XBee module. The board also has pins parallel to the XBee module socket on the bottom. You can access the input, output, and control pins on XBee modules using these pins.

 

The board has an FT232RL integrated circuit.

It can be used with all XBee modules.

It can also be used as a USB-Serial Converter Board.

GND; There are CTS, Vcc, Tx, Rx, and DTR pins.

There is an automatic restart (reset) feature after the program is loaded.
