Disk Encoders are devices that allow measuring the speed or distance traveled by a wheel. These are useful for precise movements by allowing a robot to turn exact angles or move exact distances.

 

With the disk encoder you can know the exact position of your robot, how many times the wheels have turned or how far the robot has moved. You can track the distance traveled.
