MKS SERVO42D CAN MB NEMA17 Closed Loop Stepper Motor Driver
The MKS SERVO42D CAN MB NEMA17 Closed Loop Stepper Motor Driver is an advanced closed-loop driver designed to provide precise position control for NEMA17 stepper motors and to mitigate step-loss issues common in traditional open-loop stepper systems.
A 14-bit magnetic encoder integrated into the driver continuously monitors the actual position of the motor shaft. The control unit compares the target position—received from the controller—with the actual position measured by the encoder, adjusting the motor drive signal as necessary. This mechanism helps prevent step loss, particularly in systems requiring rapid acceleration, sudden load fluctuations, and precise motion control.
The SERVO42D supports the high-efficiency FOC (Field Oriented Control) algorithm. FOC enables more efficient management of motor current based on load and motion conditions, helping to reduce motor vibration, operating noise, and unnecessary heat generation. The board operates on a 12-24V DC supply and features an adjustable motor current range of 0-3000mA. Microstepping resolution is adjustable between 1 and 256.
A maximum signal frequency of 160kHz is supported at the pulse control input.
