The RT-ZS-BZ-485-05 4.5-5.5V 30dB–130dB Sound Detection Sensor (RS485) is a compact dB(A) sound level measurement module designed to measure ambient noise levels in real-time and transmit the data digitally to industrial control systems.

The sensor features a high-performance, pre-polarized back-electret condenser microphone. The microphone assembly operates in conjunction with a protective foam filter to ensure stable detection of ambient noise.

A-weighting is used in measurements to produce results that approximate the frequency perception of the human ear.
